Kurigram Polytechnic Institute is one of the oldest and largest technical educational institutions in Bangladesh. The journey started in 2006 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Ministry of Education with four departments. At present engineering diploma is running in 7 subjects. The campus of Kurigram Polytechnic Institute is spread over an area of a little over two acres.

There are several buildings here. These include a five-storied administrative building, two five-storied and two-storied academic buildings, 26 class rooms, an IT center with WIFI facility, Shaheed Minar, library, well-equipped workshops and labs, conference rooms, two student common rooms, a Medical Centre, Cycle Garage and a Power Supply Substation.

There are no residential facilities for students or teachers, but there are residences for principals and staff. At present four year diploma courses are running in total seven subjects.
